Involves use of the telephone and computer.
Some exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, and medicinal preparation and other conditions common to a clinic environment.
Examples of Duties:
1.
Performs general nursing care to patients.
Administers prescribed medications and treatment in accordance with clinic standards.
2.
Assists with the preparation of equipment and aids physician during treatment, examination, and testing of patients.
3.
Observes, records, and reports patient's condition to physician.
Takes patient histories and vital signs.
4.
Greets patients and prepares them for physician examination.
Screens patients for appropriate information.
Instructs patients in collection of samples and preparation for testing procedures.
5.
Responds to patient telephone messages.
Instructs patient and family regarding medications and treatment instructions.
6.
Prepares patient's medical record and updates patient information as needed.
7.
Responsible for cleaning and restocking exam rooms, procedure rooms and physician office.
8.
Assists in scheduling of tests, treatments and appointments.
9.
Follows departmental guidelines, policy and procedures.
10.
Attends required meetings and participates in committees as requested.
11.
Maintains patient confidentiality.
