Under close to general supervision, undertakes and performs a variety of tasks associated with the handling of statutory and/or locally required Clerk of Court functions within the courtroom.
Provides the official record of court activities and assists in the clerk's office performing a variety of pre-court preparation and post-courtroom activity follow-up.
As experience is gained, incumbents work more independently on an expanded variety of assigned duties.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
